Pixel Counter offers two powerful modes for image analysis: Total Pixels mode shows complete image statistics including dimensions, total pixel count, unique color count, and displays the top 10 most common colors with percentage bars. By Color mode lets you analyze specific colors by clicking on the image or using the color picker, with adjustable tolerance settings. Both modes provide detailed insights for image analysis, quality control, and color distribution measurement.
Upload any JPG, PNG, or WebP image to instantly see comprehensive pixel statistics. View image dimensions (width × height), total pixel count, and number of unique colors detected. The color distribution chart displays the top 10 most frequent colors as horizontal bars showing both HEX values and percentage of total pixels. Perfect for understanding overall color composition, identifying dominant colors, analyzing color complexity, and getting quick image statistics without manual color selection.
Switch to By Color mode for precise color counting. Click directly on the image to select a color from that exact pixel, or use the manual color picker to choose any color. Adjust the tolerance slider from 0 (exact match only) to 100 (very broad matching) to control how similar colors must be counted. The tool uses Euclidean distance in RGB color space and displays matched pixels with a colored overlay. Track multiple colors simultaneously with individual pixel counts, percentages, and color values in both HEX and RGB formats.
Use Total Pixels mode for quick image analysis, identifying dominant colors in designs, understanding color complexity, and getting instant image statistics. Switch to By Color mode for quality control in manufacturing to verify product colors match specifications, analyze screenshots to measure UI element coverage, check logo color consistency across marketing materials, measure green screen coverage in video production, quantify colored regions in scientific images, count stained cells in microscopy, or measure vegetation coverage in aerial photography.
In By Color mode, the tolerance slider controls color matching precision using Euclidean distance calculation in RGB space. Low tolerance (0-20) provides exact color matching ideal for flat graphics and logos. Medium tolerance (20-50) works well for photographs with lighting variations. High tolerance (50-100) captures broad color families useful for general analysis. Visual overlay highlights all matched pixels in real-time, letting you verify your tolerance setting produces accurate results before downloading the annotated image.
