What is TIFF Viewer?

TIFF Viewer is a free online tool that opens and displays TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) files directly in your browser. View CMYK, RGB, Grayscale, and other color space TIFF images without installing any software. The viewer extracts and displays detailed metadata including dimensions, bit depth, compression type, resolution, and embedded ICC color profiles. Perfect for photographers, designers, and print professionals who need to quickly inspect TIFF files.

Supported TIFF Features

This viewer supports a wide range of TIFF features including: RGB and CMYK color spaces, 8-bit and 16-bit images, uncompressed and LZW/PackBits/Deflate compressed files, embedded ICC color profiles, multiple resolution units (DPI/DPM), and standard TIFF tags. CMYK images are automatically converted to RGB for display while preserving the original color information in the metadata panel. The viewer handles both little-endian and big-endian TIFF files.

TIFF vs Other Formats

TIFF is the preferred format for professional photography and print production because it supports lossless compression, CMYK color space, high bit depths, and embedded ICC profiles. Unlike JPEG which uses lossy compression and only supports RGB, TIFF preserves full image quality and color accuracy. Unlike PNG which is limited to RGB/RGBA, TIFF supports CMYK for print workflows. TIFF files are larger but maintain maximum quality for archival and professional use.

ICC Profiles in TIFF

TIFF files can embed ICC (International Color Consortium) color profiles that define how colors should be interpreted and displayed. This viewer detects embedded ICC profiles and displays profile information including the profile name, color space, and profile class. Common CMYK profiles include SWOP, GRACoL, Fogra, and ISO Coated. For accurate color viewing, the browser converts CMYK to RGB using standard formulas - for color-critical work, use professional software with full color management.
